Cops threaten to Taser hammer-wielding teen on Tube train after he ‘smashed up toilet and attacked staff’
Young thug arrested after attacking police officer as stunned passengers watched on
COPS armed with a Taser arrested a claw hammer-wielding teenager after a tense standoff on a packed London Tube train.
The 19-year-old thug was chased onto the carriage after allegedly punching an Underground worker and smashing up a toilet with the hammer.
The armed teenager is also said to have assaulted an officer after he was followed onto the District Line train yesterday,
The yob allegedly refused repeated orders to put his weapon down as stunned passengers watched on.
Cops have said he eventually dropped the hammer in the standoff at South Kensington station after they drew a Taser on him and threatened to use it.
British Transport Police Superintendent Chris Horton said one police officer suffered minor injuries in the confrontation.

He wrote on Twitter: "Violent male arrested with claw hammer yesterday at South Kensington.
"Taser drawn but no used.
"One officer suffered minor injuries.
"Great response by officers to protect public and rail staff from violent individual."
The teen from Thornton Heath, Croydon, was arrested on suspicion of common assault, possession of an offensive weapon, assaulting a police officer, and criminal damage.
He has been released on bail until October 12.
