Gabby Petito sold spooky fake Gucci ghost rings with skulls that have chilling meaning before strangulation death
GABBY Petito sold fake Gucci ghost rings with skulls that have a chilling meaning prior to her strangulation death.
Approximately eight months ago, Gabby Petito — the 22-year-old whose body was found dead in Wyoming in September — listed a "super cute trendy" inauthentic Gucci ring set on Depop, a fashion marketplace app.
Gabby, the fiance of now-dead fugitive Brian Laundrie, eventually sold the spooky silver and black rings, which she explained in the product's description on to be an "amazing quality dupe," for $65.
She wrote in the Depop listing: "NOT AUTHENTIC! I had ordered these 2 rings online to see if I liked them before buying a real one, so they were never really worn, in great condition!!
"Again NOT authentic! Still super cute Looks great in photos! Size 6/7 Gucci x ghost ring DUST BAG & BOX NOT INCLUDED this box/dust bag is from my real ring and did not come with either of these rings, however I made a cute nice box to ship them in (last picture) Really cute Gucci ghost ring!"
The two pieces of jewelry appear to be identical to the GucciGhost skull ring and the GucciGhost ring. The rings were among the 60 other items Gabby sold on the Depop app.
According to the , the smaller ring costs $260 and the bigger one is worth $290. The real rings are Sterling silver and made in Italy.
Gucci describes the product as "a mix of two cultures—a juxtaposition of the past and the present." It adds: "This ring in silver is engraved with GucciGhost motifs."

Additionally, skulls are known to represent death and mortality. Gabby died as a result of a homicide, Teton County Coroner Dr Brent Blue revealed on September 21, 2021.
Nearly one month later, on Tuesday, October 12, strangulation was revealed to be the cause of death. Dr Brent Blue added that Gabby's predicted death was three to four weeks before her body was found.
Then on October 21, it was confirmed that the human remains found in the search for Gabby's fiance Brian were bones.
that "skeletal remains" were found near a backpack and notebook belonging to in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park.
The FBI confirmed on October 21 that the remains found on the trail were Brian's.
Meanwhile, Brian's Pinterest account featured strange illustrations of skulls and bones along with other “bleak” images.
The 23-year-old’s account with more than 10,000 followers was last updated in August, the same month where he and fiancée Gabby were on their ill-fated cross-country trip.
And internet sleuths have suggested Gabby's last Instagram post was uploaded after she died, as the DNA analysis of her fiance Brian Laundrie's remains gets underway.
"Happy Halloween" reads the caption on Petito's last post, days before she went missing in August.
Instagram users suspect that she did not write the post, however. Brian was found dead weeks after a nationwide manhunt.
One user commented on Petito's haunting post, "This was not Gabby."
Another user commented, "I have a bad feeling as to what happened, but even if there's any shred of hope, I hope you're found safe."
One poster also commented, "Police report was done in August on where DV was involved, I pray you’re okay!"
