Twisted terror group is trying to gain a foothold in the civil war-ravaged Arabian country
AN ISIS assassin blasts a Yemeni military chief in the head during a gangland-style execution, these shocking pictures reveal.
The gunman rolls his vehicle alongside the man, pulling out a pistol complete with a silencer, before unloading a shot into the back of his head.
Making sure he has killed the victim, he shoots him again before making off from the car park in the port city of Aden.
ISIS propaganda chiefs later said the man - clad in a white gown - had been a colonel in the Yemeni army.
The Arabian nation is currently gripped in the middle of a civil war between forces loyal to Shi'ite President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi and Shia rebels the Houthis.
Internationally-recognised Hadi has been backed by a series of controversial strikes led by Saudi Arabia.
It is not known which side the executed man was loyal to.
But both groups are being targeted by Al-Qaeda's arm in the country.
Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) is considered to be one of the terror group's strongest arms.
And rivals ISIS have sought to exploit the chaos in southern Arabia by carrying out a series of bombings and executions.
Back in May a suicide car bomber killed dozens outside a recruitment centre in Aden.
While another bomber killed 25 army recruits on the same day.
The UN has labelled the bloody conflict a "humanitarian catastrophe".
