Brave mum-of-six uses HAMMER to smash into burning flat to rescue elderly neighbour – while still in her dressing gown

A MUM-of-six has been labelled a hero for breaking into a burning home to save her coughing and spluttering elderly neighbour.
Brave Angela Melia used a hammer to smash a window then crawled through the building while still in her dressing gown.
Moments later, firefighters in Newton Heath, Manchester, smashed through the front door and pulled both of them to safety.
Angela, 41, told the she crawled through the house shouting: "Which room are you in?"

"I could hear him choking and coughing and he didn't answer," she explained.
"It was thick black smoke. I was on the floor with my house coat over my face."
Moments later, firefighters burst through the door, lifted her up and dragged her out of the building.
The 76-year-old occupant was also taken to hospital, though the paper reported he was not in a serious condition.
Angela's sister described her as a "hero", adding she wasn't surprised the mother-of-six had attempted the dramatic rescue.
