Trump announces new social media network ‘TRUTH Social’ to launch next year that will ‘fight back against Big Tech’
FORMER President Donald Trump is taking on Big Tech "tyranny" by minting his own social media network site called “TRUTH Social.”
“I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech,” the 45th president stated in a release before taking swipes at his former favorite social media platform.
“We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced. This is unacceptable," Trump said in a release.
Trump further expressed his anticipation to create his first post, which he referred to as a “TRUTH.”
The tagline on the mockup that suggests users can pre-order on February 21, 2022, reads "Follow the Truth."
'FIRST TRUTH'
"I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon,” he wrote, according to .
The app is slated to begin a beta launch for invited guests by November before debuting officially within the first quarter of 2022, reported.
He described the future site as an unfiltered forum to allow for open discourse and encourage free speech.

The venture is part of the former president’s recently established Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG).

Trump suggested that he was answering the call to concerned citizens who inspired him to push back against Silicon Valley.

Trump was permanently suspended from major social media networks, including Facebook and Twitter following the deadly January 6 Capitol riot.
