Brian Laundrie update – Notebook pages ‘may reveal truth behind Gabby Petito murder’ if released by police

INTERNET sleuths are speculating that Brian Laundrie's journal will provide clues into Gabby Petito's mysterious death.

Criminologist Casey Jordan said a notebook “pointed to the possibility” of a suicide note,  reports. The contents inside the notebook remain unknown.

Jordan told CNN: “That really raises the question if indeed this is Brian Laundrie and if he died by his own hand, did he take the time out to write out a note of explanation, maybe even regret?

Officials found Brian's items, which included a notebook and backpack, when they searched the Carlton Reserve.

Remains discovered at the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park close to the items on October 20 have been identified as Brian's.

According to a family source, Brian’s sister, Cassie, said she and her family do not know who the woman is.

April Valenzuela, who shares a mutual friend with the Laundries, told the US Sun that she spoke to the alleged “fake” girlfriend for two hours on the phone last Tuesday.

  • SHOCK DISAPPEARANCE AT GRAND TETON (P.2)

Originally from Ireland, Cian McLaughlin was living in Jackson, Wyoming, working as a snowboard instructor and bartender.

According to his mother, he also has a very thick Irish accent that would make him easily identifiable.

On the day McLaughlin reportedly went missing, he was hiking on the Lupine Meadows trail. A witness saw him around 3.45pm in the afternoon.

McLaughlin was an experienced outdoorsman, but the conditions on the trails were particularly dangerous in early June as there was melting snow and ice.

Grand Teton National Park is the same park that the body of Gabby Petito's body was found last month.

He was first reported missing by his mother, Grainne McLaughlin, who is visiting from their native Ireland to help in search efforts.

  • FORMER PROSECUTOR SAYS LAUNDRIES WERE LIKELY ‘COOPERATIVE’

Before they were confirmed to be Brian Laundrie’s, former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani said that if the remains found on Wednesday turned out to be Brian’s body, his parents Chris and Roberta will likely be vindicated – despite angry protesters and commentators claiming they have been obstructing justice.

“The fact they may have led investigators to their son’s possessions and possibly his remains – that all undercuts the argument that they were aiding and abetting his escape,” Rahmani said.

Rahmani added: “That leads me to believe they’ve been cooperative and not the other way around.”

  • INVESTIGATORS BROKE ‘RULE NUMBER ONE,’ SAYS NYPD RETIREE

Tom Joyce, a retired Lieutenant Commander with the NYPD, told The Sun that the search for Brian Laundrie was a “s**tshow,” adding that he found it “so disturbing” that Brian’s father, Chris, had come upon the bag of his son’s belongings so easily.

He said that police allowing Laundrie to go “walking off by himself during such a high stakes investigation is beyond me.”

“If this was my case and I walked in there with the suspect’s parents, I would never let them out of my sight,” the veteran investigator said.

“Rule number one is that you do not let that person go until you know exactly what you’re dealing with.

“Because we know that when bodies or articles of evidence are waiting there, usually when the person who put it down or is responsible for it being there, or who knows it’s there, will find it when things aren’t moving quickly enough – it’s their way of accelerating the case.”

  • ‘ILLEGAL RESOURCES TO ESCAPE’

Laundrie’s long-time friend exclusively told The Sun that Laundrie had plans of living outside the US since high school and revealed the countries he may have attempted to escape to, prior to his death.

The friend said that from a young age, Laundrie was a good planner and could execute his plans in exactly the way he wants.

"I think he'd be able to put the resources together to get out of the country, either illegally or under some sort of a fake identification,” the friend told The Sun last month.

“He's the type of person that would be able to drop everything to secure his means of not being captured and to evade arrest or evade prosecution from what seems to be a pending crime."

Lyssa Chapman, Dog the Bounty Hunter‘s daughter, defended her dad on Twitter after Brian Laundrie’s remains were found.

“I’m sure if Gabby’s Dad asked anyone of you for help you would have done the same thing my dad did,” she wrote.

Brian Laundrie’s parents may never tell their side of the story, Steven Bertolino said to CNN’s Chris Cuomo.

Cuomo asked the reason behind the family’s decision not to speak with authorities or Gabby Petito’s family.

“I can tell you the reason,” Bertolino said. “I told them not to.”

Cuomo then asked if the Laundries will “explain the situation” at a later date.

“It may come out in the future, it may not,” said Bertolino.

  • WHEN DID FLORIDA COPS LEARN BRIAN LAUNDRIE WAS MISSING?

Police officers in Florida were unaware Brian Laundrie was missing until four days after he vanished despite his family’s lawyer insisting he contacted the FBI immediately.

The timeline of Laundrie‘s disappearance was thrust back into the spotlight this week after his remains were discovered at the Carlton Reserve, one month after his fiancee Gabby Petito‘s body was found in Wyoming.

Laundrie family attorney Steve Bertolino was asked to clarify the timeline after questions were reignited by speculation over how and when Laundrie died.

Laundrie was reported missing to the Northport Police Department by his parents Chris and Roberta on September 17.

It later emerged that the couple last saw their son on September 13, when they said he set out for a solo hiking trip.

  • FORMER COWORKER SAYS BRIAN WAS ‘A CHAMELEON’

Brian’s former coworker Livingston, 31, also described Laundrie as a “chameleon” who always had his hands clean even though they worked with plants and dirt.

Laundrie would also make money on the side by selling drawings, he claimed.

“I remember from back then he was a big yoga nut, always telling me, ‘I gotta worry about my zen,’” Livingston said.

“And I thought he was this weirdo.”

  • GABBY ‘SETTLED FOR HIM,’ SAYS BRIAN’S FORMER COWORKER

Michael Livingston, who claims he worked with Laundrie in a New York garden center for part of 2017 and 2018, said Gabby Petito’s fiancé was a “yoga nut” and was “very possessive” over Gabby.

Livingston claimed he got to know Gabby because she would come to visit Laundrie a few times a week and that “she was always a sweetheart, very peaceful,” he told .

“She was always really nice to me, and she was really outgoing. Once I realize that the person who was missing was somebody I actually knew, it hit me like a tidal wave,” Livingston continued.

“I think the only reason why she settled for him is he wanted to travel.”

  • MEDIUM CLAIMS TO HAVE MADE CONTACT WITH GABBY

A psychic medium, who “communicates with souls on the other side”, exclusively told The Sun that Gabby was showing many signs of forgiveness and compassion.

They added: “She has forgiven what has happened and understands or is at peace with the fact that she’s not going to be brought to justice.”

The Medium, who wishes to remain anonymous, made it clear that they had not been following the case closely but was able to communicate with Gabby’s spirit easily through pictures as the 22-year-old showed she “has a lot of spiritual energy.”

“So what I was seeing is that she's going to be appearing in a dream for her mother and it looks like that there's going to be some visitation, but mostly I was seeing a lot of butterfly symbolism.

“So there is a connection to butterflies and she also was showing me a cat,” the Medium told The Sun.

  • POLICE 'SURPRISED' BY BRIAN DISAPPEARANCE

North Port Police Chief Todd Garrison said on Friday that Laundrie disappearing was a "surprise" to investigators, who mistook him for his mother three days after he'd already vanished.

"We found out that Brian had left the house ... There was nobody more surprised about that than me," he said.

"In fact, when my officers went out to the house to do the report with the FBI, I sat with the deputy chief in my office, hoping that they would find Brian hiding in a back bedroom,” he said. “I was hoping, maybe it was a ploy. It wasn't.”

  • BRIAN'S PARENTS 'IMMUNITY' BARGAIN

Chris and Roberta Laundrie may have told cops where to find their son in exchange for immunity, his close friend has speculated.

Laundrie’s long-time pal told The Sun exclusively that they believe “Brian’s parents made a deal with the district attorney for immunity.”

The tipster, who wishes to remain anonymous, revealed the information came from someone who knows Laundrie's family and is a close friend of the pair.

They said: "We believe his mom and dad struck some sort of secret deal of immunity between either the Florida DA or the FBI.

"Obviously, they want to save themselves and every little bit they have left."

The friend said that the agreement most likely would require the parents to "provide the necessary evidence to close the case" and help investigators find their son in exchange for "immunity for all charges of harboring, assisting, or whatever it might be."

  • WILD ANIMALS MAY HAVE SNACKED AT BRIAN’S REMAINS

Tom Joyce, a retired NYPD commander, exclusively told The Sun that the remains of Brian Laundrie have likely suffered “a lot of post mortem predation.

“If the remains are skeletal, that means the tissue has been pulled away from the bones,” Joyce said. “Most likely by alligators, crabs, fish and stuff like that.

“That’s what it sounds like to me because it’s definitely not long enough time for it to go naturally.”

  • CHARGES CONSIDERED

The Laundrie family’s lawyer, Steve Bertolino, revealed last Thursday that authorities were considering charging Brian’s parents.

However, the lawyer said he believes investigators will not move forward with charges, adding that the Laundries “have been cooperating with law enforcement, both locally and federally, since day one.”

He also claimed that no deal was made to grant the parents immunity in the case.
