Hate preacher Anjem Choudary gets JOB and finally stops claiming £73-a-week benefits he dubbed ‘Jihad Seekers Allowance’

HATE preacher Anjem Choudary has finally got a real job - and has stopped claiming the £73-a-week benefits he dubbed the "Jihadi Seeker's Allowance".

The cleric is looking after a charity's account after more than three years of looking for employment.

And the 54-year-old says he's looking forward to keeping busy.

Before he was sent to prison for supporting Islamic State, it was revealed he and his wife were raking in £25,000-a-year in benefits for them and their four children as far back as 2013.

And when he was released in 2018, he began claiming just under £300 a month - meaning he's been handed more than £14,000 since then alone.

Overall, he's been given at least £89,000 from the taxpayer.

Talking to The Sun just two months after his gagging order ended, Choudary said: "You can imagine in the last three years it has been extremely difficult to find a job.

"Not only did I have about 30 conditions attached to me by the police and the Home Office, I was also subjected to a financial freezing order.

"I applied for a number of jobs.

"Either the police rejected it or the jobs were judged unsuitable for people with previous convictions.

"It was such a long process to get the Home Office to approve any employment.

"Luckily, I have now found a full-time job. It's linked to a charity and the position is a bookkeeping role working from home.

"I'm looking forward to it. I think it's an opportunity to do more."

The ISIS-supporting preacher, who lives in East London, took handouts from the state while speaking of his hatred for Britain.

In 2013, he was secretly filmed mocking non-Muslims for working in 9 to 5 jobs, and told followers some revered Islamic figures only ever worked one or two days a year.

'TOUGH TO FIND JOB'

"The rest of the year, they were busy with jihad [holy war] and things like that,” he said.

“People will say, ‘Ah, but you are not working’.

“But the normal situation is for you to take money from the kuffar [non-believers].

"So we take Jihad Seeker’s Allowance. You need to get support.”

Ridiculing hard-working Brits he said: “You find people are busy working the whole of their life. They wake up at 7 o’clock. They go to work at 9 o’clock.

“They work for eight, nine hours a day. They come home at 7 o’clock, watch EastEnders, sleep, and they do that for 40 years of their life. That is called slavery.”

BRIT WORKERS RIDICULED

Speaking earlier this summer, Choudary moaned about his difficulties finding a job after he was jailed for five-and-a-half years in 2016.

And we told last month of how authorities had blocked his bid to become a Del Boy-style market trader flogging shoes and clothes.

He said: “I said I could trade on a market.

"My dad used to work in the market. It's a very noble thing to do in Islam, but they said they did not want me trading."

He also accused America and its allies of demonising Muslims since the attacks and of genocide in Iraq and Afghanistan.
