Brian Laundrie search – Map reveals ‘fresh campsite’ as parents believe ‘that is exactly where he is located’
THE campsite where Brian Laundrie is suspected to have hidden out amid a massive manhunt is shown in a new map.
Dozens of law enforcement officials have spent days searching Florida's Carlton Reserve for , the fugitive fiance of slain hiker .
On Wednesday reports emerged that officers came across a "fresh campsite" within the 25,000-acre reserve, as Brian's father Chris joined in on the manhunt.
The campsite is located within the reserve's T. Mabry Jr. Memorial Reservation, a source close to the Laundrie family told 's Chris Cuomo.
Laundrie family attorney Steve Bertolino said Brian's parents believe "that is exactly where he is located," Cuomo said.
The site is said to be about 16 miles from where Brian's Ford Mustang was found abandoned by the entrance to the reserve last month.

Dressed in a casual shirt and green baseball cap, he spoke with law enforcement officers from his red truck.

His visit was brief, lasting only about two and a half hours, according to NewsNationNow correspondent Brian Entin.
At around 2.30pm EST Entin reported that Chris had returned to his home in North Port.

'NO DISCOVERIES'
Attorney Bertolino released a statement shortly after Chris returned home from the Carlton Reserve on Thursday afternoon.
“Today Chris Laundrie accompanied members of law enforcement into the Reserve to show them the trails and places Chris and Brian have hiked and which Brian was known to frequent,” Bertolino said, according to Entin.
“There were no discoveries but the effort was helpful to all. It seems the water in the Preserve is receding and certain areas are more accessible to search.
“The entire Laundrie family is grateful for the hard work of the dedicated members of law enforcement that have been searching the Preserve for Brian over the last few weeks. Hopefully Brian will be located soon.”
SEARCH DRAGS ON
Brian vanished just days before on September 19 at , where the couple had been traveling together.
He drove back to his North Port home alone in Gabby's van on September 1, a week and a half before her mother reported her missing.
reported him missing on September 17 after they claimed he told them he was going for a hike in the Carlton Reserve.
The Laundrie family has drawn some scrutiny after appearing to they originally shared with police.
According to a statement released by the family's attorney Steven Bertolino on Tuesday, Brian actually "left to hike in the preserve" on Monday, September 13, not Tuesday, September 14 as his parents originally stated.
Bertolino told WFLA: "The Laundries were basing the date Brian left on their recollection of certain events.
"After consulting with the FBI and confirming the day Brian’s Mustang was found and returned to the Laundries’ home, we now believe the day Brian left to hike in the preserve was Monday September 13."
accusing Brian of swiping a Capital One debit card between August 31 and September 1.

Brian remains at large but there have been a in parts of Florida, Mexico, Canada, and along the Appalachian Trail. Most potential leads have led to dead ends.
He is considered a person of interest in Gabby's death but has yet to officially be named a suspect.
