Brian Laundrie cops probe a DOZEN alleged sightings reported near Appalachian Trail including hiker who’s ‘99.99% sure’

AUTHORITIES have responded to a dozen alleged sightings of Brian Laundrie in North Carolina near the Appalachian Trail, including one man who claims he is "99.99 per cent sure" he spoke with him.

Tipsters have been contacting NC cops in their droves claiming to have seen Laundrie, the fugitive fiance of Gabby Petito, a spokeswoman with the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday, Today reports.

at just after 2:30am on Saturday.

He continued: "He was talking wild. He said that his girlfriend left him and he had to go out to California to see her.

“He was acting funny. And I wasn’t sure what he looked like. And then … I went and parked and pulled up the photographs of him. And I’m 99.99 per cent sure that was him.”

Davis said he encountered the man he believes to be Laundrie in a parking lot along the Appalachian Trail.

Laundrie was allegedly driving a white pick up truck, and motioned at him to approach.

“It wasn’t like an old beater. It was a newer truck," he said of the vehicle.

As the search for Laundrie continues, law enforcement agencies around the country are inundated with reported sightings that place Laundrie in Florida, Montana, and even Canada and Mexico.

Laundrie, the fiancé of slain 22-year-old Gabby Petito, vanished just days before her body was found in a forest in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming where the two had been traveling together.

Laundrie's parents Chris and Roberta told cops their son disappeared on September 17 after he said he was going for a hike in the Carlton Reserve.

CAMPING OUT

It comes as , also known as Duane Chapman, is currently scouring Florida for Laundrie and claims he has "thousands" of leads on the missing fugitive.
