Fed-up commuter hacks into display board at Blackfriars station to leave angry message

Search results included job vacancies for the under-fire rail company

A DISGRUNTLED commuter hacked into a train station display board to hit out at an under-fire rail company.

The prankster displayed a search page entitled "Thameslink are s***" at Blackfriars station in central London.

Hilarious results included job vacancies for the beleaguered company and videos related to the search.

Reddit user Fetemp posted the picture yesterday, saying: "Sorry for poor quality pic. I was watching this guy do various Google searches. Wish I could have stayed for the rest of his show but I had a train to catch."

However, users appeared to be more concerned with the fact that Thameslink use Bing as a search engine than the image itself.

Kraven420 wrote: “Seriously, who uses Bing?”

Another user replied: “Thameslink apparently. Explains a lot.”

The hack was also noticed by commuter Richard Bates, who said: "Great digital signage at Blackfriars tonight...Oops..."

He then tweeted a photo of the board, which was carrying a local paper story about Thameslink being named worst in the country for customer satisfaction.

The hacker had included a rant underneath, which said: "Govia Thameslink must lose their contract. Passengers are sick of delays and cancellations.

"They are so cheap - staff and customers have had enough! Thameslink don't even buy commercial teamviewer licences lol. But they do give their CEO £2.16 million pay packet for 2016.

"Yours sincerely p***** of customer!!"

The prank came as Thameslink station staff voted to strike after plans were announced to close 34 station ticket offices and staff 49 others only at peak times on Southern, Thameslink and Great Northern.

A spokesperson said: "This display board is not currently in use and it would appear that it has been hacked by a person or persons unknown.

“We have removed the board and, as a precaution, have temporarily disabled others. We are currently investigating into how it was possible for this to happen."
