Ianto was playing with his sister and cousin when he was hit by a pick-up vehicle outside his home in the Clynderwen area of Pembrokeshire on August 3.

The youngster was pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner’s officer for Dyfed-Powys Police, Hayley Rogers, told the inquest at Llanelli Town Hall.

Ms Rogers said: "Inquiries at the scene established that Ianto was playing with his sister and cousin when a pick-up style vehicle and trailer collided with him."

Police launched an investigation into what happened, the hearing was told.

The Health and Safety Executive were also notified and are continuing with their own inquiries.

Acting senior coroner Paul Bennett, adjourned the inquest before the tragic lad's mum paid tribute to her son.

Heartbroken Chloe Picton said yesterday in a tribute: "Ianto was my blue-eyed boy, he was an inspiration to life, he was a kind little boy who was always smiling and laughing.

"His best friend was his older sister Seren, who were always joined at the hip.

"Ianto loved going to nursery and was excited to start his first day at school in Ysgol Beca in Efailwen in September.

"He loved being out on the farm and going on the tractor with his daddy.

"Ianto and I had a very strong bond, he was 'Mummy’s little boy' and was always by my side everywhere we went, now that’s been taken from me.

"No parent should lose a child and I would like people to respect our wishes, giving us space at this very difficult, heartbreaking time."

Earlier this week, Guto’s mother, Meinir Jenkins, sobbed as she paid tribute to her grandson.

Speaking on behalf of the family, she told The Sun Online: "No one is to blame. Ianto was playing on his new bike in the back yard and my son just didn’t know he was there.

MUM'S AGONY

"He didn’t see him. He heard the sound of his pick-up hitting something and when he stopped and got out to look, Ianto was lying on the ground motionless.

"It is just heartbreaking. Poor Guto, I don’t know how he’s going to live with this. He is completely devastated."

The gran described Ianto as the "most beautiful, happy boy in the world".

She added: "He loved being around the farm machines and was always happiest when he was sitting next to his dad on a tractor or riding in the truck with him.

"He too wanted to be a farmer when he grew up, no doubt about that."
