BRIAN Laundrie allegedly hit and slapped Gabby Petito, a 911 caller claimed, prompting the cops to speak to the couple.
"I'd like to report a domestic dispute," the caller said, adding that they were driving a white van with a license plate.
"We drove by and the gentleman was slapping the girl," the caller said. "They ran up and down the sidewalk, he proceeded to hit her, hopped in the car and they drove off."
Just weeks before vanished, the pair were stopped by police and that had been reported.
A video captured by the Moab City Police Department in Utah showed officers responding to a 911 call about domestic violence incident between , 22, and Laundrie, 23, outside of a grocery store on August 12.
The more than hour-long clip begins with officers pulling over the couple's white 2012 Ford Transit van and approaching the passenger-side window.
With tears streaming down her face, Petito tells the officer: "We've just been fighting this morning. Some personal issues."

Petito is then ordered out of the vehicle and separated from . "I'm so sorry officer," he calls out as Petito opens the door.
Petito is visibly emotional as she attempts to explain to the officer what she and Laundrie were arguing about.
'IN A BAD MOOD'
"I have OCD and I was just cleaning and straightening...," she says, sobbing. "And I was apologizing to him and saying I'm sorry that I am so mean as sometimes I am so mean because I have OCD and get really frustrated.
"Not like mean towards him I guess my vibe is like in a bad mood and I said I'm sorry I'm in a bad mood I am stressed I had so much work."
The 911 call was revealed hours after in Grand Teton National Park, where 22-year-old Petito had been camping with Laundrie when she disappeared.
The vlogger had been traveling across since July and was last seen on August 24 leaving a hotel with her fiancé.
They visited national parks and tourist attractions, documenting their trip on social media, before she went missing.
On September 1, Laundrie returned home to Florida in their white van, without Petito.

Following the unusual circumstances, Petito's mother, Nicole Schmidt, reported her daughter missing on September 11 at around 6.55pm.
Cops found the couple's Ford Transit van in North Port, , during the weekend of September 11 - when Gabby's parents reported her disappearance.
returned to the state and hired an attorney, but went missing after he was named a person of interest.
According to his bio, he is a "nature enthusiast," and his most recent pictures are from his cross-country travels.

His Instagram account also indicates that he is an artist as he has multiple pictures posted related to printmaking art.
on Monday morning as cops confirmed that they had no plans to conduct a major hunt of the Carlton Reserve today.
