Mindless teens filmed chucking ROCKS off a cliff as families enjoy the beach below

Photographer captured footage of boys' dangerous stunt from bottom of 200ft Dorset cliff

SHOCKING footage has emerged of two boys recklessly throwing rocks from the top of a cliff, while sunbathers lie on a crowded beach below.

The footage shows the boys standing on top of 200ft cliffs in Dorest looking down at the beach, which is busy with families enjoying the sun.

Both then throw a stone or small rock over the edge before running away.

Witnesses said there were about 100 people on the beach below and it is just luck that no one was hurt.

The one minute video was captured by a photographer taking pictures of the dramatic cliffs, which featured in TV crime drama Broadchurch.

The photographer, who doesn't want to be named, said: "I looked up and saw the boys throwing the stones, so I started videoing them.

"I managed to capture them flinging two more before running off.

"They chucked quite a few before I started recording.

"The beach was crowded at the time, it was a sunny day and there were lots of people enjoying themselves.

"Luckily the stones did not hit anyone or it could have been so much worse."

The incident happened this weekend on the wast cliff at West Bay, Dorset.

Phil Davidson, senior warden at the nearby Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre, described the boys' behaviour as "silly".

He said:  "It's really important that people pay heed to the warning signs and use their common sense.

"It is difficult because a lot of people do things which not only put themselves in danger but also endanger other people, it's entirely unnecessary."

"We just want people to enjoy our beautiful coastline safely."

Dorset Police have also reacted by tweeting: "Take care at cliff edges, don't be tomorrow's headline."
