Gabby Petito homicide update – Funeral held in Blue Point as $20,000 bounty offered to catch Brian Laundrie

MOURNERS have gathered at Moloney’s Funeral Home in New York for the funeral of Gabby Petito.

Members of the public were allowed to attend the solemn occasion today, September 26.

, 22, had been missing for two weeks after going on a cross-country road trip with her fiancé Brian Laundrie.

Laundrie is now being  for the 23-year-old.

Gabby's family asked for donations ahead of her funeral to the future Gabby Petito Foundation.

  • WHAT WAS GABBY'S CAUSE OF DEATH?

    Her cause of death has not yet been released. However, the initial autopsy report declared .

    Asked if Gabby has already been cremated, they added: "I'm assuming so."

    The service will be open to the public, and could also be streamed online after Gabby's case made international news.

    The FBI Denver Division declined to comment further on whether Gabby's body had been released by the coroner back to the family.

    The Sun also reached out to the family's attorney for comment.

    Her father,, shared details of Gabby's memorial on Friday, tweeting: "Services for our sweet Gabby will be held at Moloney Funeral Home in Holbrook on Sunday September 26th from 12pm-5pm. Thank you to all for your support and love."

    The Sun reached out to Moloney Funeral Home in New York and a spokesperson revealed: "There's a memorial visitation [on Sunday], it's a visitation for someone who has been cremated."

  • BODY LANGUAGE

    Body language expert Logan Portenier, known as  on , said Gabby appeared to be genuinely shaken up in police body camera footage captured after the altercation.

    Portenier speculated, : "This doesn't seem to be an abuse situation of Brian abusing her, at least with strikes that could leave physical evidence.

  • BODY CAM FOOTAGE CONTINUED

    "I'm so sorry, officer," he called out as Petito opens the door.

    Gabby is visibly emotional as she attempts to explain what she and Laundrie were arguing about to the officer.

    She says. sobbing: "I have OCD, and I was just cleaning and straightening.

    "And I was apologizing to him and saying I'm sorry that I am so mean as sometimes I am so mean because I have OCD and get really frustrated.

    "Not like mean towards him, I guess my vibe is like in a bad mood and I said I'm sorry I'm in a bad mood I am stressed I had so much work."

  • BODY CAM FOOTAGE

    Just weeks before Gabby vanished, the and  that had been reported.

    The more than  began with officers pulling over the couple's white 2012  and approaching the passenger-side window.

    With  Gabby tells the officer: "We've just been fighting this morning. Some personal issues."

    Brian adds: "It's been a long day. We were camping yesterday, and camping got [inaudible] and stuff."

    Gabby was then ordered out of the vehicle and separated from Laundrie.

  • LAST INSTAGRAM POSTS

    The last  on Petito's account shows her posing in front of a butterfly mural with a knitted pumpkin and the caption “happy halloween."

    It was posted on August 26 - two days after her last confirmed sighting.

    Her , published on August 19, shows the view of a park from inside the camper van she and her fiancé Brian Laundrie were using on their cross-country trip.

    But eagle-eye observers have noticed that unlike Petito's previous posts, these last two posts do not include a location tag.

    "This post doesn't add up," said one Instagram user about Petito's last post.

    "They were traveling across the country visiting state parks then all of a sudden a post where they are back in civilization with a generic description.

    "This was not posted by Gabby."

  • FAMILY FRIEND SPEAKS OUT

    A friend of the Petito family spoke out about Gabby's spirit.

  • GABBY AND BRIAN ARRIVED AT DINER 'ON FOOT'

    But a manager at The Merry Piglets Mexican Grill in Jackson, Wyoming, told  that couple arrived on foot, without their white Ford van.

    Petito's body was discovered in a Wyoming camp site on Sunday, and a coroners report said that her death is believed to be homicide.

    The couple were on a four-month-long journey across America when Laundrie returned to his parents' home in Florida without Petito on September 1.

    The Wyoming restaurant manager's account may be one of the last-known sightings of Petito and Laundrie together.

  • BRIAN LAUNDRIE ARREST WARRANT

    A  was issued for Laundrie, according to an indictment filed by the Denver Field Office of the FBI.

    He is accused of swiping Gabby’s Capital One debit card and running up a $1,000 balance from August 31 until September 1.

    The purchases appear to violate a federal statute (use of unauthorized access devices).

    The  comes as detectives, K9s, and police continue to search for Laundrie.

  • GABBY'S GODMOTHER

    In the same post,  said she had been "thinking about how much I miss" Charleston and her godmother Flora Rocco.

    She then hashtagged the words morbid, spooky, and Monday motivation.

    Flora has shared her own tributes to the YouTuber, whose on Sunday.

    She wrote on Wednesday: "If only I could put my arm around you one more time...I miss you so much."

    Flora added: "Justice for Gabby.

    The tragic vlogger, 22, posted to her Instagram account in January, telling her following she had been listening to the "morbid podcast all morning."

    She then shared a knife emoji and said she was "obsessed" with the show as well as a picture with her now missing fiance 

    Now armchair detectives are now speculating that post was a message to her followers.

    One wrote: "Ominous af."

    Another said: "Woah… do you think she’s been trying to say something since this post?!"

    A memorial will be available for the public to visit this Sunday.

  • COUPLE SEEMED HAPPY

    Matula said: They were living the dream that we all want. They were having the adventure of a lifetime.”

    Nicole Kalanich, who worked with Gabby and Brian in a Publix grocery store in North Port, said they were a “happy and cheerful” couple.

    She told Insider: “They were couple goals for me.”

    Two of Gabby’s friends Nikki Passannante and Steven Evans said the couple seemed happy even though they had never met Laundrie,  reports.

  • HIGHS AND LOWS

    Despite falling in and out of love, friends didn’t see anything “concerning” between the young pair.

    Alyssa Chen told  magazine: “They had very high highs and very low lows. But she always said he was a good boyfriend.”

    Also, speaking to  Ben Matula said: "One minute, they'd be all over each other, the next minute he'd be like 'We're fighting. They always had some drama."

    The pair shared their love of travel as they mapped out a new way to live after struggling to find the cash needed to pay for hotels.

    Their cash struggles influenced them to buy their white Ford Transit van before embarking on their cross-country road trip.

  • MEMORIAL SITE CONTINUED

    Jake McMahon, wrote on a Facebook post: "I recognize that this might seem a little strange.

    "Gabby Petito wasn't from Ogden, Utah.. or even the west coast. However, she was a human being who saw the beauty of Utah/Ogden from all the way in Florida.

    "If she can show Utah some love, we can show her some love and come together with one another in her memory. The bigger picture here is that this tragedy isn't rare."

    He added that hundreds of people have flocked the area to pay their respects to Gabby and have been leaving "heartwarming messages."

  • MEMORIAL SITE

    A memorial site has been set up outside The Monarch, a restaurant and retail space in Ogden, Utah, where the snap was taken, as visitors paid tribute to the late YouTuber.

    The's final snap shows her smiling  in front of the distinctive butterfly mural and is captioned  "Happy Halloween."

    The 22-year-old YouTuber's photo was shared on August 26, two days after she was at the Grand Teton National Park in , her last known location.

    The memorial which is is filled with photos, flowers, and notes, was set up by a group of locals who decided to honour her memory.

    On Tuesday evening, a  said it was offering up to $20,000 for information on the whereabouts of Laundrie.

    As of Thursday, there is a warrant issued for Laundrie's arrest.

  • 'EVERYTHING WAS JUST NORMAL'

    Horrified neighbors of Brian Laundrie claim he acted completely normally after his fiancee Gabby Petito went missing, even taking idyllic bike rides with his parents.

    Charlene Guthrie, who  in North Port, Florida, told Fox News "Everything was just normal life" once Brian returned home alone on September 1, without Gabby.

    “He mowed the lawn. [He] and his mother went for a bicycle ride around the block,” Gutherie said. "I just can’t get over the fact that they — it seemed like nothing bothered him. How can you do that?”

    Gutherie described everything as appearing "so natural" and said Laundrie and his parents were "so normal through the whole thing."

    But the family's tranquil demeanor quickly shifted when Brian "went on the run", according to Gutherie.

  • LAUNDRIE HOME IS A 'CRIME SCENE'

    On Monday, cops searched the home of Laundrie and  after declaring the area a "crime scene."

    The FBI announced a "search warrant" twice before they removed  from the home. The parents were placed in a van on their lawn.

    Police also towed away  from his parents' home.

    It's believed that Laundrie may have driven the Mustang when he allegedly went for a hike in a 25,000 acre nature reserve in the Sarasota area on Tuesday, the last time his family says they saw him.

  • HAVE REDDIT USERS EVER HELPED SOLVE A CRIME?

    Despite the wild conspiracy theories, there has been a number of times web sleuths were actually able to assist with an investigation, reports .

    Walter Scott was a Black man who was shot dead by police officer Michael Slager in South Carolina.

    Shaky footage of the incident was shared online but thanks to cinematography student Daniel Voshart a stabilized version of the clip was available.

    Authorities were able to spot a piece of evidence that would eventually turn out to be crucial for the case.

    The Gabby Petito Reddit page is a forum called r/GabbyPetito where social media users discuss the case of the missing vlogger and analyze theories.

     The subreddit currently has over 121,000 members.

    It was first created on September 13, 2021, two days after the 22-year-old was reported missing.

    It is one of the fastest-growing subreddits dedicated to a missing person, as it went from 400 subscribers to 9,000 in just two days, according to the .

  • LAST WORDS

    Gabby's dad Joe said he last spoke with his daughter two days later, saying he helped her with her blog.

    Joe told KSL: "There was a power outage. She said she didn't have WiFi, so I ordered her some food. I know it was in Salt Lake City. It was the last time I spoke to her."

    Three days later, on August 24, Gabby was last seen leaving at a hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah.

    Petito called her mom Nicole Schmidt on August 24 via FaceTime. It would be the last time they would speak. They had spoken three times a week during the trip.

    Schmidt told : "At least three times a week we would FaceTime, call, text frequently. She kept me updated on this whole trip."

  • GABBY AND BRIAN'S YOUTUBE CHANNEL

    The couple launched their YouTube channel Nomadic Static to share highlights from their time together.

    But that same month a police report details how the pair were pulled over with cops separating the two for the night.

    Video released by the Moab police showed that an over on the same day after it was seen speeding and hitting a curb near Arches National Park.

    The body-camera footage showed an upset Gabby.

    On August 19 the couple was back to posting more idyllic content, sharing a video to their YouTube page.
