Richard Wilson’s sister reveals she’s too sick to visit stricken star as he fights for life after heart attack
Moira, 86, could not get to hospital to see sibling because of her own fragile health, but is praying actor will be OK
THE sister of stricken One Foot In The Grave actor Richard Wilson said yesterday: “I’m praying he’s OK.”
Wilson, 80, famous as TV grump Victor Meldrew, is fighting for life following a heart attack on Wednesday.
Sister Moira, 86, said she could not get to her brother’s side at the Royal Free Hospital in London because of her own fragile health.
Moira, who is the Scottish actor’s closest living relative, spoke from Richard’s hometown in Greenock, south west Scotland and said: “I am praying he’s OK.
“We haven’t seen each other. I can’t travel.
“I can’t go to London. I am hearing about him through his agent.”
Richard’s sister revealed her caring brother had been more worried about her health and fragility recently.
Widower Moira told the Sunday Mirror: “I finally got a walk-in shower this week because Richard was on at me to get on.
“It’s hard for me to step in and out of the bath you see.
“He was worried about me.”
In a tragic turn of events, it has been suggested Richard’s heart attack occurred after he fell and hit his head.
Yesterday, Richard’s agent John Grant declined to elaborate on Richard’s condition but simply said he remains stable.
