Victim and attacker die after knifeman ‘on fire’ stormed train and stabbed and burned seven passengers

ONE victim and the knifeman who attacked commuters on a train in Switzerland is dead
Six other people were injured after the man carrying a knife stormed a train and started a fire.
The attacker was ablaze as he stabbed train passengers in St Gallen, Switzerland.
Swiss site reported the knifeman was 'on fire' when cops tackled him to the ground and suffered serious burns.
Swiss police sealed off the train, and the nation's interior minister held an emergency meeting over the incident.
The 27-year-old Swiss national is believed to have set the train carriage on fire with a flammable liquid near Salez-Sennwald Train Station.
A 34-year-old woman has since died in hospital after sustaining injuries in the attack.
Cops have so far said their is not an obvious political or terrorist motive for the attack.
According to police at the scene, the unnamed male suspect also stabbed passengers, one of whom was a six-year-old child.
The offender carried out the attack on a train making its way to Switzerland's far east along its border with Liechtenstein at 2.20pm local time.
Local media report three women aged 17, 34 and 43 sustained injuries in the attack, while a 17-year-old boy and 50-year-old man were also targeted.

Some of the injured are said to be in a serious condition.
Several dozen other passengers were on board at the time of the shock incident, and a "massive contingent" of police, firefighters, rescue helicopters and paramedics are at the scene.
The train's carriage was reportedly left drenched in blood as the victims were treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital.
In a statement released after the incident, officials said the suspect was also injured in the attack, and rushed to a hospital near Salez in St Gallen Canton.
Three rescue helicopters are at the scene as officials launch a major criminal investigation into the attack.
In a statement, St Gallen Police added: "According to current information a 27-year-old Swiss man poured out a flammable liquid.
"He was also armed with at least one knife. The liquid caught fire."
Motive for the attack remains unclear, and the station remains closed.
Bruno Metzger of the St Gallen cantonal police said the attack could be a "crime of passion".
He continued: "A terrorism background still seems very, very far-fetched."
