Motorist arrested after fleeing the scene of devastating collision
TWO people have died in a hit-and-run horror smash after a driver ploughed into three parked cars in East Sussex.
The 23-year-old motorist fled the scene of the devastating collision in Eastbourne town centre but was arrested a couple of hours later.
The victims, a 46-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman, were in a parked Volkswagen Polo when the driver smacked into them at roughly 9.30pm last night.
A police helicopter was involved in the search for the hit-and-run driver who smashed into the cars in a Seat Leon.
He caught just after midnight this morning and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drink or drugs, and failing to stop after a road traffic collision.
