Cornwall Air Ambulance pilot on a rescue mission lands in car park and buys a ticket
The charity said pilot Captain Webster is 'always honest'
A HELICOPTER pilot flying a rescue mission had to land in a council car park - so he bought a ticket.
Captain Craig Webster was on a mission for the Cornwall Air Ambulance when he landed the chopper in a car park in Bodmin owned by Cornwall Council.
He put the air ambulance’s registration code into the machine and got a ticket for an hour.
Bosses from the charity tweeted: “Captain Craig is always honest when he parks G-CNWL even when on a mission.”
Captain Craig used to fly deliveries to lighthouses before joining the Cornwall charity.
The Cornwall Air Ambulance was the first service of its kind in the UK and every year it flies around 700 rescue missions.
It receives no direct government funding and raises the £3m it needs to run the operation from local supporters.
HRH The Duchess of Cornwall became the Trust’s first official patron in 2011.
