Two people shot in Zaragoza after gunman goes on the rampage at shopping centre in the Spanish city
Shooter 'guns down ex-wife as she left mall with her daughter before turning gun on himself'
A MAN shot his estranged wife and fired at his daughter before turning the gun on himself outside a shopping centre in Zaragoza.
Both the wounded are understood to be in a serious condition as dramatic images emerged of the man being treated by medics in the street.
Shots rang out around 9am this morning in the northeastern Spanish city.
One witness told Reuters how he saw a man lying on the ground clutching a gun shortly after hearing gunshots ring out.
He said: "We heard seven or eight shots and then I heard a car drive away fast."
Police sources suggested the violence is linked to a domestic dispute.
Spanish newspaper El Confidencial reported the man had shot at his estranged wife and daughter before turning the gun on himself.
The daughter is understood to have escaped the hail of bullets while her mother was wounded outside the Cine Palafox Aragonia complex.
Pictures emerged showing a man being treated on the ground by medics.
Spanish news reports suggest the man had previously split from his wife and had not previous criminal record.
