ONLY TITLE HE'LL EVER WIN

Paedo footballer Adam Johnson is crowned his prison wing’s pool champion

Shamed star plays for 75 minutes each evening before lock-up and inmates have more than five hours free-time to mix and play games at weekends

JAILED Adam Johnson has landed his first title behind bars – he’s his prison wing’s pool champion.

The fallen Premier League hot-shot racks up the balls during association at the cushy nick where he is banged up for abusing a school girl.

And the dead-eyed former England winger slays all-comers at the jail – where the majority of inmates are sex criminals.

Johnson, 29, hosts pool tournaments at Moorland jail near Doncaster, South Yorks, for 75 minutes each evening before lock-up and inmates have more than five hours free-time to mix and play games at weekends.

A source said: “Johnson is brilliant, but he you’d expect him to be good at ball games given that he used to play for England.

“There’s no animosity towards him and he even shows some of the less talented inmates how to line up their shots and improve their game.”

But the table in the sparsely-furnished wing at the Category C jail is a far cry from the surroundings where he honed his a-game before his glittering career fall apart.

The former £60,000-a-week Sunderland star used to live in a £1.85 million mansion in Castle Eden, County Durham, with lover Stacey Flounders and one-year-old daughter Ayla.

His pad nestles in 2.2 acres of land and has its own games room complete with bar and plush pool table.

The luxury ‘man-pad’ has deep pile carpets, macho leather sofas, a bar, American-style jukebox and giant TV screen on the wall.

But the house is now on the market after Johnson was jailed for six years in March for crimes of grooming and sexual activity with a 15-year-old Sunderland fan.

Last month he was told that he could not appeal against his sentence and conviction.
