THIS is the heartbreaking moment a young boy desperately tries to cover his mum's face as she rips off her veil after being freed from ISIS captors.

The fear in the youngster's eyes is clear to see as his sobbing mum lifts her niqab during the family's escape.

His mother, who can be heard sobbing "we are free", pushes her son's hands away as she makes the symbolic gesture on her way to freedom.

The young boy wells up as he clearly believes his mum is putting herself at risk of being harmed.

Women are forced to cover up with veils, abayas and gloves while living under the cruel terrorist organisation's reign.

ISIS carry out sickening punishments, including stoning to death and disfiguring with acid, on women who are caught not wearing a veil.
