Rooney raider ‘staked out family’s home three times before last week’s break in’
THE man accused of attempting to burgle Wayne Rooney’s £6million mansion is said to have staked it out three times.
Sources allege Robert McNamara, 24, made the 260-mile round trips because of a fascination with the footballer.
A source said: “Police suspect he may have spent some time planning this.
“They suspect he checked out the mansion three times as he has some sort of bizarre interest with the Rooneys.”
We revealed on Friday that raiders tried to break into Rooney’s Cheshire home last Wednesday before cops pounced.
Man United star Rooney, 30, was playing in his testimonial match at Old Trafford — a 0-0 draw with Everton.
Wife Coleen, 30, and their three sons were also at the match.
