FARMER Lewis White popped the question to girlfriend Emily Francis by spraying “Will you marry me?” on a couple of cows.

Romantic Lewis, 24, had hoped to paint a single word on four of his herd but they wouldn’t stay still.

So he sprayed cows Sue and Karen while a pal held them steady.

Lewis then fetched her from his farm at 6.30am and got on one knee with a ring as Emily, 20, read the message.

Lewis, of Alford, Somerset, said: “She was half asleep in her pyjamas and didn’t know what was going on.

"When she realised she welled up.

“I thought it was the right way to propose.

"We bought the cows together and reared them together and she really loves them.”
