Moment paedophile hunters confront pervert who had arranged to meet a 13-year-old girl for sex
THIS is the moment a fisherman was confronted by paedophile hunters after arranging to meet a 13-year-old girl for sex in a shocking video filmed by the group.
Bradley Masterson avoided jail despite being snared by Dark Justice while trying to meet the youngster.
The 19-year-old had been speaking on social media website tagged.com with a girl he believed was 13 and called Roxy.
In fact Masterson was really speaking to Dark Justice, a group who had set up the account to snare paedophiles.
In the video he denies arranging to meet the girl for sex and said she had not told him how old she was.
Two men from Dark Justice can be heard questioning Masterson before he is seen being led away by police.
Newcastle Crown Court heard how the conversation quickly turned sexual and Masterson asked 'Roxy' if she wanted to try sex.
He also asked her to send a photograph of herself when getting changed and asked her to go to his house.
Alec Burns told the court how the teen travelled to meet 'Roxy', only to be confronted by a camera and paedophile hunters Dark Justice.
Mr Burns said: "The communication did not go on for long before he asked to meet her."
When the police arrested him, Masterson told them her profile said she was 18.
Mr Burns added: "He was unable to explain why the sexual messages had been sent."
Masterson, of North Shields, North Tyneside, is a previous good character.
He admitted attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming at an earlier hearing.
Tony Hawks, defending, told the court how Masterson had an offer of working on a fishing boat if he is allowed his liberty.
He said: "He's an immature 19-year-old which goes without saying given the way he behaved.
"The sooner he get's some assistance the better.
"He comes from a respectable family, his mother is upset about what's happened."
The judge, Mr Recorder Ben Nolan, told Masterson: "You were entrapped into committing this offence by a series of messages sent to you.
"Having said that you responded to those messages and showed enthusiasm for committing the offence to those who sent you those messages.
"You appear to have an unhealthy interest in young girls, you have to getaway from that.
"I suggest you get away from communications on the internet."
Recorder Nolan sentenced Masterson to 12 months in prison suspended for two years with supervision.
He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for ten years and abide by a sexual harm prevention order for five years.
