Monarch airline crew at Gatwick checked the passport twice but failed to spot it belonged to Angela Darkin, 61, not Keith Jordan, 78.
Spanish authorities then let Keith through entry and exit border controls.
The caretaker, from Brighton, was only collared back at Gatwick a week later, when a passport official asked: “Have you had a sex change?”
