Amanda, 23, drove her Toyota Yaris on to the A6 Pointer roundabout in Lancaster just before 9am. Dean, weighing 6lb 10oz, arrived  moments later, two weeks early.

Vicki, from Morecambe, Lancs, said: “It was all very surreal.

“I wasn’t scared as I didn’t have time to be in pain or think about it.”

Amanda added: “I looked over and could see the baby’s head. As we went on to the roundabout he just came out completely.”

The Yaris was already packed — Vicki’s partner Dan Currey, 25, daughter Lilly, nine, and Amanda’s  baby daughter were on the back seat.

Amanda added: “Vicki was so good. She had no pain relief and was in a tiny car.

“To see her cope so well with it was really nice.”

Vicki and Dean were checked over at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary and the family were  home by 3pm the same day.
