Mystery as model, 33, dies after falling from 12th floor window as family say it WASN’T suicide
A MODEL has died after plunging from the balcony of her 12th floor apartment - but her family have insisted it wasn't suicide.
Nayara Vit, 33, fell to her death in Santiago, Chile, on July 7, and her husband has reportedly claimed he was sitting in the living room when she ran out of their bedroom and threw herself off the balcony.
Her four-year-old daughter said she heard her mother screaming moments before the fall, it's reported.
According to journalist Sergio Puga, who is the victim's cousin, Nayara's husband, Rodrigo Del Valle Mijac, called a lawyer shortly after the tragedy, which took place just days after her 33rd birthday.
"They (the police) worked with the suicide hypothesis and that was it," he said.
Puga has called for a full investigation into the model's death, and Nayara's mum, Eliane Vit, also took to social media to say she did not believe her daughter took her own life.
Nayara's family have been unable to travel to the Chilean capital due Covid restrictions, but are in touch with the local embassy.
The model, who hailed from the Brazilian city of Cuiaba, was known for appearing on the popular talk show 'Toc Show' on channel TV+.

Nayara was born in Cuiaba to a Lebanese father and a Spanish mother, living there for 15 years before moving to the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo.
She had been living in Santiago for the past 16 years and leaves behind a four-year-old daughter.
