Rudy Giuliani barred from practicing law in Washington after NY suspension for statements made while working for Trump
RUDY Giuliani has been suspended from practicing law in the nation’s capital.
The former New York City mayor was hit with the latest ban on Wednesday by the DC Court of Appeals.
Giuliani already had his law license temporarily frozen out on June 24 by a committee of judges in New York.
They condemned him for making "false statements to courts and public" while serving as former President Donald 's personal attorney and trying to reverse the results of the 2020 presidential election result in which President Joe Biden was declared the victor.
One day after he was essentially sidelined in New York state, a DC-based disciplinary counsel sought to suspend Giuliani’s license there until a result is reached in the New York case, according to .
The DC Court of Appeals agreed.
The process to reach a decision on whether to make the suspensions permanent, sanction, or possibly reinstate Giuliani could drag on for years.
The case against the former federal prosecutor who served as NYC mayor from 1994 until 2001 and was Trump's personal attorney, stems from his drawn-out "Stop the Steal" campaign contending that deceased people, immigrants, and/or felons voted in various hotly contested states.

"These false statements were made to improperly bolster respondent’s narrative that due to widespread voter fraud, victory in the 2020 United States presidential election was stolen from his client."
They then went on to conclude that Giuliani's actions threatened public interest and therefore "warrants interim suspension from the practice of law."
The court’s action against him practicing law in New York came after as part of a federal probe that is determining whether he broke lobbying laws in Ukraine while working for Trump.
In April, federal investigators seized electronic devices from Giuliani's Upper East Side Manhattan law office apartment after executing a search warrant as part of the federal probe.
Giuliani has denied any wrongdoing.
In fact, after the raid, Giuliani lashed out at the FBI's tactics and motives during the search.
"At about 6am there was a banging on my door, a very loud banging, and outside there was a group of an endless number of FBI agents," Giuliani told .
"Usually a person who has been a former assistant US attorney, a US attorney, a mayor, the associate attorney general, usually they receive a subpoena, not have their home raided."
But Giuliani is convinced the Justice Department and the are singling him out for his staunch support for Trump.
";Instead, the Justice Department decided it was a higher priority to serve (at dawn) at the home and law office of former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani."
After the decision to , the former president and legal client denounced the decision as a ploy by the "radical left" and then the Florida citizen stated:
"Can you believe that New York wants to strip Rudy Giuliani, a great American Patriot, of his law license because he has been fighting what has already been proven to be a Fraudulent Election?" Trump wrote in the statement.
