Between 1946-1953, the couple lived in Hawaii, Virginia, New York, California and Connecticut as part of Carter’s Naval deployments.
The couple have three sons and one daughter together, along with eight grandsons, three granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
On Sunday, November 19, the Carter Center announced Rosalynn passed away. She was 96. She was married to her husband for 77 years.
“Rosalynn was my equal partner in everything I ever accomplished,” Jimmy said in a statement.

“She gave me wise guidance and encouragement when I needed it. As long as Rosalynn was in the world, I always knew somebody loved and supported me," he continued.
She is survived by her children, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
