Queen’s Household Cavalry moved away from London after Covid outbreak

THE Queen’s Household Cavalry horses have been moved away from London after a Covid outbreak among their grooms.

Top brass feared for the animals’ welfare with almost 100 troopers meant to be looking after them now off duty.

It came as they prepared to take part in the Royal Windsor Horse Show.

The horses were taken from their Hyde Park stables to summer pastures in the countryside for easier feeding.

Farriers and vets were also affected.

A source said: “There weren’t enough healthy troops left to feed them all and muck them out, especially because a lot of the guys are busy at Windsor.

"They decided to get the horses away ASAP because you don’t need as many troops to feed them and muck them out.”

But the source insisted the regiment’s Musical Ride at Windsor next week was unaffected.
