COPS are currently investigating India Chipchase’s murderer Edward Tenniswood over another matter, Sun Online can reveal.
The new ongoing probe by Northamptonshire Police is centred on the 52-year-old killer but is not about his 20-year-old victim.
Details on its existence came hours after cops said they were confident Tenniswood had no other victims.
Police also said after his conviction they had no intelligence on his background to suggest they needed to look beyond the county.
A source said: “There is an ongoing investigation not related to the death of India Chipchase.
“It is to do with Edward Tenniswood but not India.”
Last night Northampton Police said while Tenniswood had no previous convictions, they HAD spoken to him before over other matters.
Cops would only say officers had talked to him as part of “other enquiries”.
It meant when he was seen on CCTV footage with India they knew who he was and where he lived.

“Edward Tenniswood, 52, was found guilty of the rape and murder of India on 2 August 2016.”
Yesterday Tenniswood was sentenced to life in prison after a jury took just one hour 45 minutes to return a unanimous guilty verdict.
The court heard he told India “don’t worry, I’ll get you home safe” after she had been on a night out with friends.
Tragic India, 20, was found covered by a sheet on a mattress on the floor in a bedroom at book-keeper Tenniswood’s home in January this year.
Birmingham Crown Court had earlier heard how India’s body was found with over 30 separate injuries after she was raped, battered and strangled to death.
Chilling CCTV footage showed predator Tenniswood speaking to Ms Chipchase before he “led, steered or escorted” her to a cab, and then back at his home raped and killed her.
Sentencing him to life the judge, Mr Justice Saunders, told the court: “This was a terrible crime. It was committed because the defendant was determined to satisfy his own sexual desires on an attractive and much younger woman. It was a crime of utter depravity.”
India’s family, who were in the public gallery of the court, wept.
Her father Jeremy Chipchase said: “I sincerely hope there’s no possibility that another woman ever falls into the hands of my daughter’s murderer.”
