Witnesses were left spellbound by his brazen pedicure - which took place on a public bus in city of Skopje, Macedonia.

The man, assumed to be a pensioner, was filmed on a cellphone by a disgusted passenger sitting near him.

The video shows the man sitting at the back on a bus with one leg propped up on a seat in front of him while he snips his nails.

After the footage was posted online, viewers were reviled and amused in equal measure.

One person commented: "Omg! Is he a father or grandfather!? What does he teach his children I wonder?"

Another wrote: "Maybe he shaves on his way back!!"

Others reacted with less humour, saying "shame on you" and suggesting that even "homeless persons don't do this".

Local media reports said the man was probably homeless and was taking the ride on the bus on a day when it is free to the elderly.

On such days, men over 64 and women over 62 can ride for free.
