DRINKERS can now enjoy a beer on a bus after a pub winched a double-decker Routemaster into its courtyard and turned it into a bar.
A giant crane lowered the vintage vehicle into place at The Old Bank of England in Fleet Street, central London.
Brewery and pub chain McMullen spent £20,000 on the bus plus £30,000 getting it into position.
Punter Charmaine Hunt, 37, who sat in the top-deck seats, said: “It’s great to have something so different to come for a drink.”
Kathy Wong, 28, said: “Coming to the bus was amazing, I couldn’t believe how nice it is, it instantly attracts you.

“It’s such a wonderful and welcoming environment.”
A McMullen spokesman said: “The Old Bank of England, Fleet Street, has undergone a huge £2.1million refurbishment during lockdown, bringing the pub back up to the glory it should always have been in.
“Our unique pub is famous in London, not only for being the previous Bank of England, but also being the location of the fictional Mrs Lovett’s pie shop and Sweeney Todd’s barbers.”
