SHOCKING video has emerged showing a brawl at a meeting to discuss the planned HS2 train line.
Police were called to Barnburgh Primary School near Doncaster last night after the fracas erupted between local residents and event organisers.
HS2 said none of their staff were involved in the violence, which apparently erupted when members of the public were unable to get into the meeting.
Hundreds or people were locked outside the school because of a lack of space.
But some of the concerned residents weren’t taking no for an answer and attempted to gain access to the building.
The video – posted online by the – shows one man in blue trying to get past security staff at the door.
Pushing and shoving ensues and the man – along with one of the security hired by the parish council – ends up on the floor.
After getting back up, he appears to shove another man into a shelf, causing him to collapse to the ground.
He stays lying there for a few moments in apparent pain as the shouting and jostling continues around him.
One woman can be heard pleading for everyone to calm down, shouting: “Please! Please! Please!”
A female voice can also be heard shouting that their leg had been injured in the brawl.
Many of the local people were reportedly there to protest against the plans to re-route the HS2 train line towards Doncaster to save money.
The line was due to run through Rotherham but HS2 Ltd says the new route will save £1billion.
But many people in South Yorkshire are opposed to the line, saying it will ruin the countryside.

They also argue that people in some areas will not enjoy any of the benefits as there won’t be a station nearby.
Feelings run high over the controversial transport link but nobody planned for the number of people that would attend the consultation with HS2 staff.
Police didn’t make any arrests at the school and said that a second meeting was organised to accommodate people.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Police were called at around 7pm last night to reports of a disturbance at Barnburgh Primary School in Church Lane.
“It was reported that a significant number of people were trying to enter the premises, which caused some disruption.
“Upon officer arrival, there was a significant number of people at the location but no criminal offences were reported and no arrests were made.
“A second meeting was held after the first in order to accommodate the large number of people who attended.”
