TV stars' 'terror' joke

Gogglebox’s Siddiqui brothers reported to terror cops after ISIS gag on Facebook

One of their Facebook friends didn't find it funny and called the police

THREE Gogglebox stars were embroiled in an anti-terror probe after a joke about ISIS was added to a photo of them on Facebook.

TV’s Siddiqui brothers were snapped dressed for paintballing and one of them put the picture online with the caption “ISIS training day, look how happy we look!”

It sparked an investigation after a complaint to cops.

The photo and comment was uploaded by Raza Siddiqui, who has appeared briefly on the Channel 4 show with brothers Baasit and Umar, who are regulars with Pakistani immigrant dad Sid.

Pals of Baasit, 31, who lives in Derby with his wife and daughter, piled in with jokes.

And one added a picture of an ISIS terrorist holding a gun.

But another Facebook friend did not see the funny side and reported it to police.

Cops went to the pal’s home and he said he was told anti-terror police would be visiting him and IT teacher Baasit.

The friend, who declined to be named, said: “When you are in the media, you have a responsibility.

“His friends were liking and loving it.

“You don’t know if any of those people are genuinely ISIS supporters.”

Derbyshire Police were now satisfied there was no terror link but would be “offering suitable words of advice”.

The force said: “No offences have been committed and there will be no further police action.”
