PRESIDENT Biden got in a last jab at Putin after their meeting when he gifted the Russian president a pair of aviator sunglasses from a brand that produces the shades for US military pilots and NATO allies.
The gift marked the end of a tense one-day summit in Geneva in which Biden confronted Putin over Russian cyberattacks.
The glasses, produced by Randolph USA, are also in a style favored by Biden, who is often seen sporting them on the tarmac, .
Biden also gifted the Russian President with a crystal sculpture of a American bison, the official US mammal, atop a cherry wood base, a reference to George Washington's cherry tree.
Although gift giving is common among world leaders after negotiations, Putin has yet to give one back to Biden.

PUTIN SOLO PRESS CONFERENCE CONCLUDES
Russian President Vladimir Putin has concluded his press conference with reporters.
He ended the session after fielding questions from US and Russian press for just shy of an hour.
Biden is due to hold his own press conference at 1.30 ET.
PUTIN: BIDEN DIDN'T EXTEND WHITE HOUSE INVITE
Vladimir Putin told reporters that Biden didn't extend him an invitation to the White House during their summit Wednesday.
Putin said he also hasn't invited the US President to visit the Kremlin.
Elaborating a bit on Biden’s negotiating style, Putin described the US president as a “very constructive” and “balanced” politician.
Putin said he believed he and Biden were speaking “the same language” in their meeting.
'THE PIPELINE SUMMIT'
Republican Senator Ted Cruz has "renamed" President Biden's meeting with Russian strongman Vladimir Putin the "Pipeline Summit".
The meeting comes just weeks after Russian group DarkSide hacked the Colonial Pipeline which caused chaos along the East Coast as fuel stations ran dry.
And, Biden waived US sanctions on the company behind the Nord Stream 2 pipeline.
The president said: “To go ahead and impose sanctions now would, I think, be counter-productive in terms of our European relations.”
PUTIN CITES BLACK LIVES MATTER AND CAPTIOL RIOTERS WHEN ASKED ABOUT CRACKDOWNS ON KREMLIN CRITICS
Rachel Scott of ABC News asked Vladimir Putin about how he has responded to political opposition in Russia.
Scott said to Putin, “The list of your political opponents who are dead, imprisoned or jailed is long. ... My question is, Mr President, what are you so afraid of?”
Putin replied by equating the jailing of his opponents, such as Alexi Navalny, to the charges filed against the more than 500 rioters in the Jan. 6 insurrection.
"As for who is killing whom and throwing whom in jail, people came to the US Congress with political demands," Putin said. "They face prison sentences of up to 20, maybe even 25 years."
"They are being called 'domestic terrorists.' They are being accused of a number of other crimes," he added
"We sympathize with what is happening in the states, but we do not wish that to happen in Russia,” Putin said.
PUTIN: BIDEN A 'CONSTRUCTIVE PERSON' AND 'EXPERIENCED STATESMEN'
Vladimir Putin described Joe Biden as "very different" from his predecessor former President Donald Trump during a Wednesday press conference.
Putin was asked by US media about comments Biden previously made, in which he claimed he looked into the eyes of the Russian leader and "didn't see a soul."
"I don't remember such a conversation," Putin said.
"[But if you ask me what kind of a person he is, he is a constructive person, a seasoned politician - and that's what I expected.
"He recalled his family and conversations with his mother. While that didn't have anything to do with our business, it shows who he is and his moral values.
"It is clear to me that we did speak the same language," he added. "That certainly doesn't mean we must look into each others' eyes and find a soul."
PUTIN SAYS HE AND BIDEN AGREED RUSSIAN AND US ABASSADORS WILL RETURN TO THEIR POSTS
Vladimir Putin announced that he and Biden agreed that their ambassadors can return to their respective posts in Russia and the United States.
“We’ve reached an agreement that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the U.S. State Department would begin consultations on the full range of interaction on the diplomatic track,” Putin said.
He didn't offer a timeline for when that would happened, but said timing was merely "a technical issue."
PUTIN: RUSSIA IS A MAJOR VICTIM OF CYBER HACKS, NOT JUST UNITED STATES
Although Putin conceded that the United States was the victim of the greatest number of cyberattacks, he said that Russia was also a major victim of similar hacks.
“We encounter this every year. For example, one of the health systems in a very important part of Russia was attacked. So, it means that this work is being coordinated,” Putin said.
“In the US, I don't think that the US administration is particularly interested in organizing that or looking into it. All they do is to make insinuations.
"What we need is expert consultations between us. We agreed to that, in principle, Russia is prepared for that.”
PUTIN: BIDEN IS 'DIFFERENT' TO TRUMP
When fielding a question from a Russian reporter on Wednesday, Putin name-checked former President Donald Trump when discussing his summit with Biden.
"His predecessor had a different view, he decided to evade the question. This one decided to act differently," Putin said of Biden.
"His reply was different from Trump's. He's very different to President Trump."
PUTIN: US AND RUSSIA WILL 'BEGIN CONSULTATIONS' OVER CYBER SECURITY
The United States and Russia are going to begin consultations on cybersecurity, Putin told reporters on Wednesday.
Such talks will include "responsibilities and who should take them," Putin said.
It comes after a series of attacks on US interests over the last year that have been linked back to Russia-based hacking groups.
Putin has denied any Kremlin involvement in the hacks, insisting on Wednesday that Russia faces similar threats.
PUTIN: 'NOTHING TO DISCUSS' ON UKRAINE JOINING NATO
Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that he had discussed the subject of Ukraine with President Joe Biden.
As far as Ukraine joining NATO, “I don’t think there is anything to discuss there," he said.
BIDEN AND PUTIN TALKS ENDED EARLIER THAN EXPECTED
The highly-anticipated talks between Biden and Putin concluded far earlier than White House aides had been anticipating.
The two men spent two hours and 38 minutes meeting together, according to the White House.
The US President had been preparing to speak with Putin for up to five hours, officials earlier suggested.
It's unclear why the talks ended earlier. Putin described the summit as "constructive."
BIDEN GIVES THUMBS UP AFTER LEAVING SUMMIT
The summit between Putin and Biden came to a close earlier than expected, with the US President first to leave Villa La Grange, in Geneva.
A smiling Biden offered a thumbs-up to reporters as he departed.

Joe Biden laughed when he was asked if he still thinks Vladimir Putin is a “killer” and said the Russian leader is a “worthy adversary.”
The president was speaking during a press conference on Monday afternoon that he turned up to two hours late.
Joe Biden previously said that he believes Putin is a “killer,” something that the Russian president denied ever speaking to the American about.
