The 16 year old, who appeared as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars, the US version of Strictly Come Dancing, was "under great care" in hospital, his spokeswoman said.

"Hayes Grier was involved in a dirt bike accident and immediately transported to a local hospital," she added.

"Hayes suffered a concussion, broken rib, bruised lung, and multiple skin lacerations.

"Thankfully, he is OK and currently resting and recovering in the hospital surrounded by his family, where he will remain for the next few days. We can't thank you all enough for the outpouring of prayers and support for Hayes!"

After news of Hayes' injuries began to circulate, thousands of fans began paying tribute to the stricken celeb using the hashtag #PrayforHayes.

However, trolls quickly began a nasty campaign against the injured web celeb, launching their own FAKE hashtag called the #hayesisdeadparty and pretending to celebrate his death.

Hayes' fans then began a frantic search for the person who started this sick joke on Twitter.

One Hayes fan wrote: "Who ever started this hashtag is terrible. That is sick.

"You have serious issues if you think its funny to tweet #HayesIsDeadParty."
