Apple is celebrating today after revealing it has sold more than one BILLION iPhones.
Tim Cook, Apple CEO, told staff about the "milestone" at a meeting yesterday.
The tech boss also shared an image of him brandishing a box-fresh iPhone in front of a rapturous crowd of employees.
In a statement, Cook wrote: "iPhone has become one of the most important, world-changing and successful products in history. It's become more than a constant companion.
"iPhone is truly an essential part of our daily life and enables much of what we do throughout the day."
The billionth iPhone as actually sold last week, meaning Apple has probably flogged even more since then.
Cook added: “Last week we passed another major milestone when we sold the billionth iPhone.
"We never set out to make the most, but we’ve always set out to make the best products that make a difference. Thank you to everyone at Apple for helping change the world every day."
Earlier this week, Apple revealed it had earned revenue of £32.2billion last year, which was a piece of good news after the fruity firm revealed its first earnings decline in 13 years during the previous quarter of the year.
The iPhone SE, Apple's first 4-inch smartphone since 2013, was launched in March as a lower cost alternative to their flagship 6s and 6s Plus.
Tim Cook said: "We are pleased to report third quarter results that reflect stronger customer demand and business performance than we anticipated at the start of the quarter.
Industry experts had predicted the iPhone's sales had reached saturation point at the start of the year and would being to steadily fall.
"We had a very successful launch of iPhone SE and we're thrilled by customers' and developers' response to software and services we previewed at WWDC in June."
The firm's WWDC developer conference in June saw the next version of iOS, Apple's software for the iPhone and iPad, demonstrated for the first time before launching this autumn. A new iPhone is also expected to be announced in September.
Apple's chief financial officer Luca Maestri also revealed that the firm's App Store had broken records in the quarter, while use of Apple Pay use continued to grow.
"Our Services business grew 19% year-over-year and App Store revenue was the highest ever, as our installed base continued to grow and transacting customers hit an all-time record," he said.
