Donald Trump throws tantrum after event at hotel gets heated due to air conditioning fail

The GOP presidential candidiate accused the hotel, in Roanoke, Virginia, US, of scrimping to save money and threatened not to pay the bill

DONALD Trump got hot under the collar - literally, when the air conditioning at an event he attended wasn't turned on.

It was held at the Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center, where it was 96 degrees on Monday.

The billionaire businessman said it was trying to save money and threatened not to pay his bill.

 

Trump told the crowd: “I don’t know what hotel this is, but you ought to try turning on the air conditioning or we’re not going to get you paid."

He added: “But this is ridiculous. So then there’ll be an article, ‘Donald Trump refuses to pay the bill.’ Of course. And you know what, the smart people say, ‘Trump is smart.’ The other people would say, ‘Oh, isn’t that terrible.’ OK. I think the ballroom and the people that own this hotel should be ashamed of themselves.”

However hotel management hit back at his comments saying he appeared to be full of hot air.

In a statement to  it said: “The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center’s HVAC system was on and working properly throughout the event to provide a comfortable environment for all in attendance.

“Temperatures in the mid to upper-90’s, doors opened for two hours to let hundreds of attendees enter and the ballroom filled to capacity did present a challenge. However, hotel staff did everything possible to keep guests comfortable and accommodated, both inside and out.”
