Two killed and man seriously injured in crash near Somerset village
TWO people have died and one has been seriously injured in a horror crash near a Somerset village.
Cops and paramedics were called to a smash between a VW Golf and a Mitsubishi Shogun on the A39 coast road near Tivington yesterday afternoon.
Tragically, the man and the woman in the Golf were both killed.
The driver of the Shogun was rushed to hospital.
Officers investigating the crash say he has been seriously hurt.
Avon and Somerset Police said the next of kin of the two people killed are being supported by specially-trained officers.
And officers have launched a desperate appeal for witnesses.
They have called for anyone driving along the A39 at around 3.30pm on Friday to come forward.
A spokesperson said: "We’re appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a two-vehicle collision on the A39 between Minehead and Porlock in which two people sadly died.
"The collision, between a VW Golf and a Shogun, happened at just before 3.30pm on Friday near Tivington.
Emergency crews were called to the location but sadly two people in the Golf, a man and a woman, were pronounced dead at the scene.
