A BOSS at the taxpayer-funded British Council, which promotes UK culture worldwide, has sparked fury with a Facebook attack on Prince George.
Angela Gibbins caused fury with an attack on Prince George, saying he was: “Privileged, rich and living off public money.”
Gibbins made her comments beneath the three-year-old’s picture, which someone had posted on Facebook with the vile caption
She wrote: “White privilege. That cheeky grin is the innate knowledge he’s royal, rich, advantaged and will never know ANY difficulties or hardships in life.”
Gibbins, 52, a manager at the part taxpayer-funded council that promotes UK culture worldwide, outraged her Facebook friends.
Lisa George said: “You are a total idiot Angela, to look at the picture of a child and be filled with nothing but hatred for them. You are a disgrace to humanity.”
Gibbins responded: "I have a multi-faceted political opinion. That's not hate, and I hate no human being on this planet as an individual.
"But I do disagree with the system that creates privilege of any sort. And I have a dedication to calling that out for what it is."
Alex Browne, wrote: “You look at a smiling child and this is the kind of stuff you think? You need some time off the internet.”
Unrepentant Gibbins replied: “I’m sound in my socialist, atheist and republican opinions.
“I don’t believe the royal family have any place in a modern democracy, least of all when they live on public money. That’s privilege and it needs to end.”

Gibbins earns an estimated £80,000-a-year at the British Council, which has a Royal Charter and the Queen as its patron.
It gets £154.9million of public money a year to promote UK culture, including the Royals.
George’s parents William and Kate recently helped front its projects in France, India and China.
Tory MP Andrew Rosindell said: “These comments in such an open forum are deeply inappropriate.
“The British Council is a Government-funded body and receives regular support from the Royal Family. For a senior official to make such remarks is an outrage.
“She must make an immediate public apology.”
Gibbins, of Walthamstow, East London, is the council’s head of global estates. Her Twitter interests are “socialist politics, human rights, allotments”.
The Facebook picture, showing a smiling George as a two-year-old, was posted around the time of his third birthday last week.
The British Council said it will examine whether Gibbins broke its social media rules.
It added: “These are certainly not the views of the British Council.” Gibbins was not available for comment yesterday.
