Diplomat’s son ‘posed as Saudi Prince to try and have sex with model and hostess he met over Instagram’
Khaled Abdelhakam admitted harassing the women after they rejected his advances
AN EGYPTIAN diplomat’s son posed as a Saudi prince and threatened women then they turned him down for sex, a court has heard.
Khaled Abdelhakam, 28, met hostess Gioia Forte and model Chloe Othen via social media app Instagram – where he invited them to parties under the guise that he was a rich Saudi.
The pair initially accepted but changed their mind when told they would need to have sex with him.
The rejection led Abdelhakam to bombard the women with angry texts and phone calls, Westminster magistrates’ court was told.
He offered Ms Othen £10,000 for sex and £3,000 to give him the details of any girl that would agree to his proposals, prosecutor Denise Johnson told the court.
Ms Johnson said: “Abdelhakam had contacted Ms Othen after seeing her pictures on Instagram.
“When she declined his offer he told her there will be consequences for her. He messaged her repeatedly.”
When Ms Fiorte, a hostess at a Mayfair club, turned him down he sent a series of text messages threatening to tell her boyfriend and employer she was a prostitute.
Worryingly, the court heard how Abdelhakam knew her address and the name of her flatmate.
The Imperial College-educated Egyptian was in fact a financial analyst earning £2,400 a month.
Born in Canada where his diplomat father was based Abdelhakam attended the renowned Sorbonne University in Paris.
He then moved to London and studied finance at Imperial College London.
When interviewed by police earlier this month he broke down in tears under questioning.
Abdelhakam received a caution for harassment relating to the breakdown of a past relationship in December 2015, the court heard.
Bill Nash, defending, said: “He is not a man of any particular substance. He had been provided with Ms Forte's telephone number from someone he knew.
“He does not accept saying that she would be paid for her services.
“When she changed her tune and decided she would not participate any longer he got upset and sent her a number of messages that particular day.
“The first contact with the second young lady was through Instagram, she responded and provided him with her telephone number.”
“She had said she found it normal and not out of the ordinary. She told him she was a model and she wished to be paid.
“He does not accept there was any agreement that talked about sexual activity.”
Abdelhakam, of Waterloo, central London, admitted two counts of harassment without violence.
Chair of the bench Clive Ross acknowledged his previous good character and sentenced him to pay a
£600 fine for each of the two offences.
Abdelhakam must also pay a victim surcharge of £60 and £85 costs.
