BUCKINGHAM Palace aides "rolled their eyes" when discussing Meghan Markle's "common" baby shower, the author of Finding Freedom claims.
The Duchess of Sussex, 39, celebrated her pregnancy by flying to New York by private jet in 2019 to have a five-day baby shower celebration - which was slammed as "trashy."

In February 2019, Meghan and her closest friends partied at The Mark hotel in Manhattan - in one of the world's most expensive suites.
The shower was hosted by Serena Williams, Jessica Mulroney and Genevieve Hillis - who has been Meghan's best friend since they were teens.
Speaking in the Channel 4 documentary A Very Royal Baby: From Cradle to Crown, which airs tonight, Omid Scobie claimed: "I remember speaking to a palace aide at the time who rolled their eyes.
"They were horrified that something so common was happening within the House of Windsor."
Scobie admitted the idea of a baby shower was "as far from British tradition as you can get."
And Ingrid Seward, a royal author, described the shower and celebration as "trashy."
The expert said: "They walked in through the front entrance carrying these enormous bags from the most expensive shops in New York.
"Crowds gathered because they were all celebrities, there was Gayle King from CBS, Serena Williams and Amal Clooney. "
A senior aid revealed to Scobie when writing Finding Freedom: "It's fair to say that the optics of the somewhat flashy shower did not go down well with certain individuals at the Palace.
"Meghan was often criticised for being too Hollywood, meaning too flashy. Especially for the reserved aesthetic of the monarchy."
Meghan and Harry went on to welcome baby Archie in May 2019.
And the couple this year announced Meghan was pregnant with a little girl.
Scobie said there’s been "a lot of speculation" about where Harry and Meghan’s second child might be born - which is expected in early summer.
This comes after Kate and William, Prince Charles, and the Queen all failed to pen an anniversary wish on social media to mark the Sussexes' two year anniversary today.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have continued their normal social media content today, including showing Kate's visit to the V&A as restrictions in England ease.
And Prince Charles and Camilla have been chronicling their visit to Northern Ireland all day - without a word of praise for Harry and Meghan's milestone.
The official Royal Family twitter account only made one tweet today - announcing that Princess Beatrice is expecting a baby in the autumn.
Just last month, The Queen and Prince Charles and Camilla publicly congratulated Kate and William for reaching their 10 year anniversary.
