TWO HELD AFTER POOL PARTY BLOODBATH

Cops make two arrests after a man is shot dead and two injured at pool party at £1m bungalow in Surrey

Neighbours heard gunshots from party which attracted 450 people in sleepy village

A REVELLER was shot dead in a suspected gangland murder at a wild ‘sex pool party’ in a sleepy village yesterday.

More than 450 people attended an annual all night rave held at a rented out £1million six-bedroom property when shots were fired.

The victim, 34, was blasted in the chest by gunman using a handgun inside the bungalow in Headley, Surrey, at about 2.30am.

Several nurses, who were guests at the party, tried to administer first aid but the man tragically died as paramedics arrived.

Scores of partygoers fled to their cars to escape the terror as a volley of bullets rained down.

Cops held two people 12-hours after the shooting. One was arrested on suspicion of murder and the other on suspicion of assisting an offender.

They also urged witnesses to come forward if they had seen a black and white Mini racing away from the scene.

Detectives believe rival gangs may have clashed at the bash, which attracted hundreds of revellers from the capital’s underground urban music scene.

Officers from the Met’s Trident Gang Crime Command are helping Surrey Police with their investigation.

A 36-year-old woman also suffered gunshot injures to her leg during the same incident.

She has received medical attention in hospital and her condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

The weapon has not been recovered. A police cordon is in place and the main road in and out of Headley will be shut overnight.

The “Pool Party Part 3” was organised by 21-year-old Jamaican reggae dancehall artist Braintear Spookie, from Streatham, south London – whose real name is Jason White.

His co-promoter is Summerlyn Farquharson, 30, who lives at the Surrey property – which has two swimming pools – with her disabled eight-year-old son Khalid and calls herself “The Female Boss”.

She has rented the home for at least three years after being awarded a £300,000 compensation payout for her son who suffered brain damage at birth.

The event cost £20 and was touted as taking place at “The Big Mansion” at “A posh location in the hills”.

Last night a Surrey Police spokesman said a possible “gang link” to the death was something that had not been ruled out.

He said: “It’s certainly a line of inquiry that we are looking at very closely and we are liaising with other police forces.”

He added: “This is a shocking turn of events at what had been billed as a private pool party and would have been witnessed by a number of people.

“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a white and black Mini which left the scene following the incident.

“At this stage we believe the weapon used in the shooting was a handgun which has not yet been recovered.”

Cops had attended the property hours before the killing to warn organisers to keep the noise down.

But a neighbour, who did not want to be named, said the disturbance was large.

He said: “It was just absolute carnage, as usual, there must have been about 400 people there.”

It followed a similar party held at the same venue last year, which caused widespread fury in the village.

Scores of partygoers left their cars all over Headley and “bus loads of girls” arrived in the village last year, locals said.

One woman, who asked not to be named, said: “This is the third year in a row they’ve thrown a massive sex party there – it’s ridiculous.

“We’re a quiet village. We don’t want to live with this sort of thing on our doorstep.

“They get up to all sorts of things there. There was a condom on the ground down the path and I’ve found a lot worse in previous years.”

Local Councillor David Preedy told The Sun: “There was a large party last year with it not finishing until 4am or 5am.

“I heard there were ‘bus loads of girls’ which had attended last year. It was a ticketed event of some sort with people arriving from outside the community.

“When I realised another party was going on Sunday I phoned the police to ask them to have a quiet word with the organisers, which they did.”

He added: “It (the house) is rented out. I understand it is the second or third of these parties. I was told last year that it was an event people were paying for tickets to attend.

“I became aware a large number of people were gathering. I walked up at 8pm and there were people assembling.

“They weren’t people from the community. I could hear music was being played but I couldn’t see much as the place has an enclosed garden. People were milling around.

“I called the police and asked them to patrol and make organisers know they should be considerate neighbours.

“I am pretty sure it was noisy through the night.

“It (Headley) is a quiet village – most things happen at Headley Court, the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre.

“I haven’t spoken to enough people about it but I am sure people will be shocked and very worried.

“The two main roads through the village are closed so it is very disruptive.”

A reveller at the party, who asked not to be named, told The Sun: “We heard a bang and didn’t know what it was.

“I was in the car park and then everyone was suddenly running out.

“It was crazy. I ended up leaving my car there and going home with friends.

“Police said it’s looking like I won’t get it back until tomorrow (Tuesday).

“They don’t want to move anything as it’s a crime scene.”

Another resident said: “I drove past the house last night and there were lots of people, there were cars parked everywhere, in people’s driveways.

“I drove past again at 5.30am on my way to work and it was cordoned off, it had all kicked off.”

He added: “The house is owned by a developer from Mitcham who rents it out for parties.”

David Baxter, who has friends in Church Lane, said the incident happened at a house which is rented out for parties.

He said: “There was a smashed car, glass everywhere.

“The house is next to the church and it is rented out for parties.”

Ken Wells, 44, who drove past the party on Sunday evening, said: “This sort of thing is just unheard of in Headley.

“It was proper London. It was a real aggressive sounding DJ who was hyping up the crowd.

“It was mad, absolutely mad. There was a sense of threat.”

Harriet Mannering, 17, cycled past the house at 6pm. She said: “It was full of music – it was party beats.

“I heard it and then saw two huge speakers.”

Roger Hill believed the party got “massively” out of hand after news of it spread on social media.

He said: “That’s the only thing I can think of, I looked at midnight and they were still coming in their droves.

“Cars still trying to park at that time in the morning – I wouldn’t have thought a party could cope with that number of people.”

Neighbour Nick Woolley said: “There was a very loud private party in a house very close to the church which started at 5pm and I was awoken by very loud music, rap-style.

“I was woken at 2.30am by cars honking their horns, trying to get away from it. It was a very loud party with a DJ which was disturbing anyone near it.

“About 3am a police helicopter was overhead and it was circling for 45 minutes. The village is now swarming with police.”

A post-mortem examination will be carried out to find out the exact cause of the man’s death.
