Cops search for 60 victims of world’s worst rapist Reynhard Sinaga after sex fiend drugged and assaulted up to 195 men
POLICE are searching for sixty further men believed to be victims of the world’s worst rapist Reynhard Sinaga.
The twisted sex fiend was caged for 40 years for drugging and assaulting up to 195 men at his flat near Manchester city centre’s gay village.
Twenty-three further victims were identified by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) after the force received 155 reports following a public appeal.
But investigators are trying to trace another 60 men who they believe were victims of the Indonesian student, who drugged men and filmed himself violating them.
Detective Chief Inspector Zed Ali, senior investigating officer for Operation Island, said: "It is important we continue to make attempts to trace the around 60 men we believe are victims of Sinaga, but who haven’t made contact with police or support services yet.
"Our appeal, launched last year, has so far identified 23 further victims of Sinaga. I commend their bravery for getting in touch and the strength and dignity they have shown throughout the past year during our further investigations.
"Ultimately, they decided not to pursue further prosecutions given Sinaga is already serving a record sentence for rape offences, and it will be four decades before he is even considered for release.
"That they are satisfied justice has been done is testament to the hard work of our officers, who were able to secure the evidence needed to put Sinaga in prison - where he belongs."
He added: "I would urge anyone who thinks they may have been a victim to please get in touch with us.
"Specialist staff involved in Operation Island remain key members of our force and will continue to investigate any further enquiries that come to light.
"If you don’t feel comfortable speaking to police, specialist support services are widely available with organisations such as St Mary's SARC and Survivors Manchester."
While living near Manchester's clubbing scene, Sinaga would watch as his targets - usually straight men - poured in and out of nearby bars Factory and Fifth Avenue.
And the rapist would prowl the streets outside the Manchester clubs in the early hours looking for lone, drunk men to attack.
Sinaga would often pose as a Good Samaritan who would offer young men a floor to sleep on or promise them more drink. Many of his victims have little to no memory of the assault.
