Inside the multi-million pound homes of celebs including Tom Cruise, Calvin Klein and Brangelina that have been on the market for more than a YEAR

The high values associated with A-list luxury properties mean estate agents struggle to find buyers wealthy enough to afford them

THE star power of Hollywood A-listers Tom Cruise and ‘Brangelina’ isn’t enough to help them flog their luxury homes.

The Top Gun star and the planet's most prominent power couple are just some of the celebs struggling to off-load their multi-million pound properties.

Finance experts MarketWatch took a look around the properties for sale belonging to the great and good and found a few that have been on the market for over a year, despite swinging price cuts.

The site said: "It’s supposed to be a seller’s market, but some celebrity homes have been on the market for years now. Are they overpriced? Do they have too many customised features that buyers simply don’t want to pay for?

"Or are these wealthy homeowners just able to hold out for a specific price — no matter how long it takes to find the right buyer?

"How about basketball ace Michael Jordan’s home which has been on the market for four years."

Few can afford these houses, and they can be pretty discerning when it comes to shovelling millions in to real estate.

Finding the right buyer in a tiny niche market is a challenge.

MarketWatch said: "Luckily for these homeowners, even mega-mansions often do sell eventually, though their appeal to a small niche of people can make it tougher to find a buyer.

"Candy Spelling, wife of the late TV producer Aaron Spelling, famously sold a 57,000-square-foot mansion in Los Angeles in 2011 — though the $85 million sales price was 43 per cent less than her $150 million asking price, according to The Wall Street Journal."

So, let's take a close look through the keyhole of these 'mini-palaces'.

Michael Jordan’s suburban Chicago home has been on the market for four years.

Currently, his 56,000-square-foot property with an indoor basketball court and putting green is listed for $14,855,000.

Not by coincidence, those digits add up to 23 - the number on Jordan’s jersey when he played for the Chicago Bulls. He listed the nine bed 15 bathroom property in Highland Park for $29 million in 2012.

Similarly, Jordan’s teammate Scottie Pippen also has a home with a 'for sale' board outside.

Pippen, who played on all six championship Chicago Bulls teams during the 1990s, originally put his Fort Lauderdale, Florida home up for sale in 2007, according to the Sun Sentinel.

After being priced at $16 million in 2009, realtor.com says it is currently on the market for $11.5 million.

For that, you get a waterfront property with six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and two half bathrooms, and 9,782 square feet of living space. Plus a super-cool pool with a water slide and, of course, a basketball net.

Fashion king Calvin Klein listed his Miami Beach, Florida, home for $16 million in May 2015.

The listing was renewed this year at the same price. The five bedroom, five full bathroom and two half bathroom, 5,802-square-foot home comes with waterfront views.

Klein has several homes, and bought a $25 million mansion in Los Angeles around the time he listed his Miami Beach house, according to a report on Variety.com.

It seems it is Mission: Impossible to sell Tom Cruise's home.

He recently closed a sale on a home in Beverly Hills, California, according to the L.A. Times, but another of his properties is still on the market.

MarketWatch said he began trying to sell his Telluride, Colorado, home for $59 million in 2014, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The home has seven bedrooms, nine full bathrooms and one half bathroom, and overlooks the mountains of the resort town, according to the listing.

Oprah once did an interview with Cruise at the property, after a show in her studio where he jumped on her couch, declaring his love for then-girlfriend Katie Holmes.

Singer Gloria Estefan listed a Miami Beach estate last in the spring of 2015 for $40 million, according to the Miami Herald. It actually comes with two main houses - one with four bedrooms and one with five.

Then there is the three-bedroom, three-bathroom guesthouse. And a private dock with sunset views over the bay are highlighted in the listing description.

And finally, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie listed in May of 2015, their home in New Orleans for $6.5 million.

The French Quarter mansion is now at $5.65 million and boasts five bedrooms, three bathrooms and two half bathrooms.

And if those millions are burning a hole in your pocket, visit Realtor.com for more details.
