British online celeb Milo ‘Nero’ Yiannopoulos given Twitter life ban after calling Ghostbusters actress a ‘black dude’
Social media shock jock unrepentant after publishing controversial Leslie Jones comments
The British right wing firebrand Milo Yiannopoulos has been slapped with a Twitter life ban after calling Ghostbusters actress Leslie Jones a "black dude".
Milo, who uses the name Nero on social media, is an openly gay Oxbridge dropout who is now a major media star in America after using the social network to become the voice of a growing anti-feminist, "alt-right" movement.
But he is now banned from the microblogging site after becoming entangled in a vicious dispute with Leslie Jones.
The actress closed her Twitter last night after receiving a barrage of hateful and racist tweets.
Some bullies compared her to Harambe the Gorilla, who was shot dead after a young boy fell into her enclosure.
Milo published a scathing review of the new female-led Ghostbusters and then used Twitter to accuse her of "playing the victim", before telling his 338,000 Twitter followers he had been "rejected by a black dude" when she blocked him.
Jones has now shut down her Twitter account and wrote: "I leave Twitter tonight with tears and a very sad heart.
"All this cause I did a movie. You can hate the movie but the s***I got today...wrong."
It is understood that some of Milo's fans were involved in the campaign against Leslie Jones.
Some people started false accounts in her name and began writing fake emails which made her out to be homophobic.
However, Milo denied responsibility and said he could not be blamed for the actions of other people.
“Of course, I don’t have any regrets,” after Twitter announced his permanent ban.
“But feminists on the other hand should have regrets that they have taught strong women that they are victims and attacked people for having different opinions to them on Twitter.”
Milo's uncompromising attitude and caustic, deliberately offensive sense of humour have won him celebrity status among angry young men who feel feminism has gone too far.

But the self-described "super villain" has made a lot of enemies along the path to fame.
Feminists hate Milo because he has challenged cherished ideas such as the notion that Western societies are gripped by a culture which legitimises sexual attacks on women, describing this so-called rape culture as a "fantasy" like Harry Potter.
