Incredible moment lorry driver gets out of his cab on the MOTORWAY to rant at fellow motorist
Mad motorist risks life during road rage clash
THIS is the shocking moment a trucker deliberately stops on a busy motorway and gets out of his cab to shout at another driver.
He was caught causing tail backs in heavy traffic on the M60 near Trafford Park - one of the busiest stretches of motorway in the country.
The car driver also stopped so the two men could rant at each other, causing a hold-up behind them in two lanes.
Amazingly, the van driver risks his life by stepping out onto the middle lane as stunned motorists drive around him.
Bosses at recycling company Plevin have vowed to investigate the incident.
Alan Crosby caught the incident on film on his dashcam.
He said: “The driver of a Plevin lorry stops in the inside lane, gets out of his cab and starts shouting at a car driver who has stopped alongside in the second lane, effectively closing two lanes of traffic in rush hour.
“You cannot hear the driver shouting on the footage, but I could hear him through my driver’s window and it was pretty heated.
“It brought to mind the footage from last year near Whitefield when the van driver stopped in front of an HGV and threatened to open the door a couple of times, but this is far, far worse, with the man wandering about on the carriageway in very busy traffic.
“Sheer lunacy.”
The incident happened during the morning rush hour on July 13.
A spokesman for Plevin said the company has not received a formal complaint in relation to the matter, but promised to investigate.
They added: “At Plevin we take health and safety very seriously and as a responsible operator we expect our drivers to behave professionally and courteously to other road users.
“Upon receiving the footage, we will be investigating fully and will be formally dealing with the driver responsible via our disciplinary processes.”
In February, a van driver who stopped his vehicle infront of a lorry on the same motorway, near Junction 17 at Whitefield, escaped jail “by a whisker” and was handed an eight month suspended prison sentence.
Van driver, Anthony Cairns, 43, from Salford, was also given an 18 months driving ban, ordered to do 200 hours unpaid work, and attend a probation service anger management course.
Video footage of the incident in October last year went viral.
Drivers behind were forced to stop on the motorway by Cairns’ erratic driving between Junction 17 at Whitefield and Junction 18 at Simister.
He was arrested after footage taken by the lorry driver’s dashcam was published.
Bolton Crown Court was told that Cairns was behind the wheel of a Ford Transit when he ‘deliberately’ pulled in front of a wagon driver and braked - before ‘straddling’ two motorway lanes.
Footage showed Mr Cairns pulling up in front of the lorry before moving over to the left hand lane.
