Did DMX overdose and what was the rapper’s battle with drug addiction?
RAPPER DMX has died in hospital, April 9, after suffering an apparent drug overdose.
The 50-year-old rapper was in a vegetative state at White Plains Hospital in New York.

A source told TMZ that he was in a "vegetative state," while another claims the Harlem born musician has "some brain activity."
The staff of White Plains hospital in New York, where DMX was being treated following his overdose, released a statement to DMX's family and fans after his death was announced.
Luckily, a medic on hand administered Narcan, an anti-opioid used to reverse the effects of a heroin overdose, according to police.
The rapper became “semiconscious” and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he received treatment.

A few years later he signed a new deal with Def Jam in September 2019 - the label who he initially signed his first major label deal with in 1998.
The following month, he entered in to a drug rehab program.
