It comes after Covid daily cases also fell to levels not seen since mid-September yesterday with 3,402 new cases, as infections start to decrease.
Today it is only slightly higher, with 3,423 new cases in the last 24 hours.
In more good news more than five million people are now fully protected against Covid as they have had both doses of the vaccine.
Britain's record-breaking vaccine rollout is the key to the country slowly unlocking - with 5,205,505 people now having had both jabs and 31,425,682 having had their first dose.
It comes as:
- MP Margaret Ferrier put overnight stay on EXPENSES after travelling 700 miles with Covid
- Kirstie Allsopp angrily vows to boycott shops and pubs if government brings in vaccine passports
- Cops shut down Good Friday church service and threaten worshippers with £200 fines
- Families face paying £600 for Covid tests to go on foreign holidays this summer
A further 41 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital in England - bringing the total number of confirmed deaths reported in hospitals to 86,392, NHS England said today.
But these deaths occurred between November 8 and April 2.
Patients were aged between 30 and 98 and all except five, aged between 70 and 93, had known underlying health conditions.
Scotland has recorded 397 more coronavirus cases but no new deaths of Covid-19 patients, the latest figures show.
It comes as the country enters its first weekend since the stay-at-home order was lifted, with Scots now encouraged to "stay local".
And there have been 95 new cases reported in Wales, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 209,627.
Public Health Wales logged two further deaths, increasing the grim tally for the country since the start of the pandemic to 5,511.
CASES FALLING
NHS England said 26,644,910 were given the first dose of a vaccine, a rise of 68,281 on the previous day, while 4,146,857 were a second dose, an increase of 215,754.
It comes as people in England are allowed to mingle in groups of six outdoors, with families able to reunite for the first time in months.
Many people will be setting up camp in gardens for day trips to socialise with friends and family members throughout the Easter bank holiday weekend.
But cops have pleaded with rowdy Brits having drunken raves in parks all week since rules were relaxed.
The desperate request came amid fears the sudden mingling since rules were eased could lead to a spike in cases and another lockdown.
Flouting the rules and dodging social distancing could plunge the country back into tougher restrictions later down the line or delay the roadmap out of lockdown.
Parks were shut, booze seized and drunk youngsters escorted home by cops for the past few nights as hot weather saw Brits hit green spaces.
Yesterday four more countries were added to the UK's travel red list - banning all visitors over fears of Covid variants.
